Aerial photo of Lake Memphremagog taken from an altitude of 10,500 feet. The maximum of the lake is 351 feet. The distance from Magog wharf to Newport's wharf, via the center of the lake is: 24 miles, 4333 feet, (39.98km). The lake supplies drinking water to numerous municipalities. It is sought-after by nautical sports amateurs and fishermen. It's history, beauty, and attractions make it a precious jewel for our region. It's protection and survival depemd on all of us. Our lake also hides a secret that we have also discovered or read about through old newspapers. As far back as 1816, "sightings" of Lake Memphremagog Sea Serpent were reported. From numerous researches and testimonies, 170 well documented sightings can be counted to date. Our creature is named MEMPHRE. To our great pleasure, It makes many people talk. Those who have sighted It say they will never forget that moment.

Il fourni l'eau potable a de nombreuses municipalites, il est recherche par les amateurs de sports nautiques et les pecheurs, Son histoire, sa beaute et ses attraits en font un joyau precieux pour notre region, sa protection et sa survie depnd de nous tous. Il renferme aussi un secret que nous avons decouvert par des journaux anciens. Des 1816, on rapportait des "apparitions" du Serpent de Mer du Lac Memphremagog, apres de nombreuses recherches et plusieurs temoignages, on peut compter a date plus de 170 apparitions bien documentees. Notrecreature s'appelle MEMPHRE. Pour notre plus grand bonheur elle en fait parler plus d'un. Les temoins qui l'ont vue, disent qu'ils n'oublieront jamais ce moment.
